A Shot In The Dark [6]

Rating:

Henning prised the wood panel out of it’s frame and set it to one side. He licked his dry lips as he reached into the now revealed recess. His hand closed around the bottle. Well one of them, there were six in the void behind the wall.

Silja sat tight lipped in the passenger seat of Joe’s van. She could see Joe’s knuckles showing white even against his pallid skin. She listened to him breathing through his nose, it was slow, regular, but through his nose, audible above the rumble of the van and the odd crashed gear change. Silja rubbed at the chafing left on her wrists by several applications of handcuffs. She was not looking forward to arriving at Chez- Spivey, not one bit.

Above and beyond

What's brown and bald and screams a lot? Yup, Joe on a trail bike. On the plus side though the woodland creatures, even the big hairy ones with sharp teeth, got the hell out of the way.

Deliverence

Keywords:

A day, a night, and most of another day trapped in a car with anyone can strain a relationship. Let's just say there were tantrums, feelings were hurt and there were occaisional tears. Tuki, on the other hand was fine.

There are many layers and usually there are tears. (Continuation of the Onion thing)

Iceland is a pretty place if you like lots of snow, volcanos, mud and a language that makes you go squinty eyed trying to even understand it, never mind speak it. But despite its 'features' Iceland looked damned attractive to the good folks at LifeNet. Now this might have been because of the island's unique geologic and climatic conditions. Or it might have been for its, well...... remoteness. I don't know, but they built a research facility there anyway.
