((OOC)) Expanding My Social Circle

Vorela's picture

I know most of you have never really met Vorela IC, and I want to change that.  It’s not that she’s a snob or anything (honest!), it’s just that her player is really shy, very quiet, and tends to get stuck in her comfort zones, and it’s hard to keep it completely out of V’s personality.

IC and OOC I know hardly anyone outside of Invicta, and I want to push myself out there and get to know more people in the community and hopefully make some friends and even some enemies.  Currently I’m pushing to get S2 done and move into S3, but I still spend a lot of time hovering around Credit Bend (as she’s a Traveler) and New Flagstaff.  Plus I’m not going to say no to dropping what I’m doing and meeting someone for RP.

Please feel free to hit me up for RP any time you see Vorela or give me a shout to arrange an IC meeting if you think you can use her in a storyline (as a friend or a foe) or if you just want to get to know her.

So does that mean I finally get to meet Vorela some time IC :P

or at least the weirdo who sent me a severed chicken head in the mail lol

It's good that you've been hanging about New Flagstaff, while you're leveling up and heading out to S3, as that's where most the RP happens. Sure it can spread off out to wherever but it ultimately all starts at Flagstaff, and at Flagstaff's bar. It is afterall where Invicta hosts their biker rally every week and even the Saints head up there whenever we have enough characters, to sit around and drink beers to talk about what new is up or catch up with their old friends.

As for having a small social circle, I do understand exactly what you mean, though not because I am shy or my character is. Sometimes toon concepts just don't mix and players get a bad taste in their mouth from an RP and with Jericho Boyd being quite the grizzled asshole I find that it's good to talk to people on an OOC basis and at least joke around or find a common interest with another player so you know that, despite character differences, you and that player can make something work out.

Other than that, scout the Flagstaff bar every now and then. You don't have to initiate contact but it does make characters look to yours and want to talk to them when you show they're lively through actions.

I'll sometimes stick my head in at Beau's if I happen to see vehicles parked outside, and V is definitely there every Thursday dancing and drinking.  Just really hoping to find friends and RP outside of the usual events and "cantina" RP. :)

Which is always good and possible. In fact, I find it preferable to the bar, for certain situations. Talking around beers about what has happened over the week is nice, and the bar is a nice place to pass along shady information with side-glances to the other party. There are many things, however, that simply cannot be done properly in such a setting but in a game so big there are few places to meet for RP.

If we ever cross paths in the Wastes, though, you'll find RP in Boyd - however much of an unsavory character he is.

She had to pay extra to get the Franklin's Rider to deliver it, too.  It'd been sitting in her vault a long while.

Edit:  Oops, you snuck in ahead of me, Boyd. :)

You know, that does remind me. If you have a friend OOC and want to get in touch with them IC, miscommunication can be a unique way to come in contact with them. Have a friendly letter to send to a friend, or a romance letter? Well, what if Franklin's Riders sent it elsewhere?

Romance letters gone astray... oh my word, that could be hilarious.

Don't know what the problem is Vorela.  I've decided to 'chat' with you IC at least three times now and something always happens to pull me away before I can get to you.  I've been trying to meet as many known role players as I can, but my character is not the kind of guy that just goes around introducing himself.  I always have to wait for a character appropriate opening.  And seems like every time I get one for Vorela, something happens to interfere.  Of course that is the nature of the Invicta rallies I guess.  Your character seems friendly and intruging enough and we seem to share the habit of drinking our tea with a dash of alcohol.  However, it seems like there is always some pressing distraction whenever I find a good opening.  Hopefully next time I see you around.  : )

Oh, and when you smile at Death (Blight) it's always a LOL moment.

Certain people just seem unreachable to me.  I've tried chatting with Natalie Holn three times now with no success.  Last time I actually got 'killed' (I was pvp flagged) as I walked up to her and introduced myself.  It's like some evil curse.  I actually am curious about the Holnists, I keep getting bushwacked by them in conflict towns, I'd like to know their story.   Alicia Trabeal is another, she's always around, but I never get to speak to her.

I got used as someone's secretary the other night in Beau's.  Myself, Caelika and Draxen were sitting there having a conversation. There was another female across the room who stood up and "yelled"  - "If you see a guy named Zero, tell him i got tired of waiting" and walked out....i think her name was Morgan (ooc info), but none of us knew her icly or of Zero.

There...my messenger duties are done now!! and i didn't even get paid!!

(( That would have been Morgan Temple- - Seems like our RL schedules make an in game meeting very difficult ))

And yes, Soyala is another one on the impossible to get to list.  I have yet to meet her IC, though I know her from the forums and have encountered her several times.  Just hasn't been the right IC opportunity to strike up a conversation yet.

Soyala will be around a lot more now that she's back among the living and family
