Vorela's Ramblings - Sept 14

I didn’t realize when I offered to take Soya to my usual crash pad in Flagstaff for her to recuperate in (so that she didn’t have to listen to Drax and Jela go at it all night, can’t say I blame her) that I’d end up with half the clan camping out with us.  So much for secrecy and privacy.  Ah well, it’s actually been kind of fun.  And it’s nice to have someone else cook for me for a change, as temporary as it might be.  Drax can sure cook a mean omelette.

Robbie collapsed back against the instrument panel, utter shock slowly turning to dismay as the betrayal sunk in. He barely noticed the advance, crouching, of the lead biker, who still had the shotgun trained directly at him. This advance made room for 2 more, and Robbie didn't even hear Ashley's screams for help as they dragged her from the plane. After what felt like hours to his stunned mind, he was yanked out of his disbelief by the solid connection of the shotgun barrel with his jaw.

Robbie's Journal - Entry 4

I think, really, that I am going to be OK. I'm writing again, like I keep promising myself, and feeling like I actually want to keep on going. That feeling has been absent for a few weeks, every since I started remembering. Not now, though, I'm feeling good.

((After hours of grinding, I managed to fill up only 4 and a half bars. So I'm thinking about coming back to the RP community on either Sunday or Monday (Maybe Tuesday). Please note that the players (other than Archer) mentioned in the tags don't actually appear in this post. Later in the post Archer is talking to someone about his experience in the Province and who he has met as well as his opinion of them.))

The echoes of long lost memory had finally coalesced into a vivid tapestry in her mind, fragmented no longer. Dru sat astride her motorcycle at the top of the ridge, gazing back toward the people of the hidden valley as they waved to her.

Dru discarded her stick and nodded as she rose from where she'd been kneeling in the dirt, brushing herself off a bit as she did so. Old John nodded as well, finally looking away from their various plans etched out on the ground, "Well, you heard the girl, we'd all better get some rest. It'll be an early mornin' if we're going to hit them with the sunrise at our backs."

"Strange place for the throttle", thought Robbie, reaching up for it instead of down between the seats where he'd been used to. Resting his hand on the twin levers, he took a look around for one last check: Flaps, check...EGT in the green...trim set for the heavy load the aged plane was carrying. His last check was on the other 3 passengers- Sierra in the right front seat, practically sitting on her hands to avoid touching anything, Ashley with her attention fully occupied by the newspaper, and Drew, stretched out on the floor between the seats and snoring contentedly.

Mason Greene was alone in the desert a few miles from the outskirts of Old Kingman.  For most of the day he had been scrounging and scavenging for materials to trade with the local vendors of the town.  As the sun was slowly setting, he decided to make camp instead of making his trek back.  Although spending the night in Kingman would offer a better sleep and more security there were times when Mason enjoyed the simple tranquility and solitude of the wilderness.

It is early afternoon, an unusually cool day that breezes through the house to send anything not weighed down rustling about. She is standing before a counter in what must have once been a kitchen, her lithe fingertips working at packing a shell casing to add to the hundreds already gathered in rows before her. Things are peaceful now and the delicate monotony of her task is half-meditative.

Vorela's Ramblings - Sept 5

I finally got a chance to show Soya that cursed letter at the rally.  I felt bad as soon as I did, though, seeing her face harden again.  She was finally seeming like she might be letting a smile through the pain, and I went and killed it.  I just keep on telling myself that it was necessary.  I needed to know.  She needed to know, just in case.

Before the Fall

The view from the corner apartment was breathtaking. It was one of the things its occupant enjoyed, the view across the campus and downtown Boulder at night, the lights of civilization disappearing into the granite majesty of the Flatirons. The other thing he liked, of course, was the location; just across the street from the east campus of the University of Colorado and an easy 5 minute bicycle commute to the main campus on 28th Street. Boulder was a beautiful place on the evening of July 23rd, 2051.

She stands amongst the billowing wreckage, the very vision of coldly manicured beauty. She is clad in a black catsuit of some high tech weave she cannot name, its snug fit almost inappropriate in how it hugs her svelte form. Her long, vibrant red hair has been loosed to the wind and whips about her pristine features and away behind her in a scene straight out of an exaggerated hair products commercial.

Druuna sleeps restlessly, shifting uncomfortably in her tangle of sheets. The wind is picking up outside as a storm is brewing and the old house creaks its weary disdain of such trouble it is no longer well suited to weather. She is oblivious to the noise, lost in the throes of her own troubles, dreams such as they are.
