Little Girl Lost-Call of the Wild

The reunion with Grampa Wolf was one of profound emotion, The child clutched at the old blight wolfs fur, buried her face in it and sobbed. The mighty beast lowered a head large enough to encase most of her upper body in a single bite, slathering his long tongue all over the girls head while making low whimpering sounds. His huge front paw and muzzle bringing her even closer.

The intellegent little reptilian mutant watched on nearby but aloof.. not joining the strange mammalian ritual this time and had already tolerated her warm squeezing embrace but had none of the emotional need for it as did the warm-blooded members of his family.  The bond between the small clone and the old Blight Wolf was one where species did not matter. Whether humanoid or canine, mutated, natural or created by a machine held no bearing on love shared by two beings.

Aside from briefly showing herself in Oilvile, Canni had kept a distance between herself and those that knew her.  No one attempted to contact her nor did she seek them out. Caught up in a heady rush from the scents and sensations of the environment in which she had spent most of her odd little life and thought lost along with the faithful companions who waited for her return.

She wanted as far away from adults, both human and clone, as was possible and so the untamed trio headed towards places darkend by tall trees and the absence of civilization.  The call of the wild was heard, and answered.

To be continued.

(( for a brief moment, and lost in the picture I thought of the strong bond between the two. It would be great to see the blight wolf perspective of this story. ))
