Being in a weird place - part one

Submission type:

Subdane woke in a strange place. As he raised his face from the hot sand, he saw animals long thought to be extinct.
Terror and confusing took hold of his mind. He scrambled to his feet, feeling the all too familiar cloning sickness, along with the awareness of being naked. Feeling exposed.
Wait a second. He thought to himself. I’m dead. Why do I feel like this?
Against his own will, he smiled. For the first time in a long time. He could actually feel something. His hands immediately ran up to his throat, searching for the all too familiar clone collar.
There was nothing on his neck but his own bare hands.
The lifted spirit he felt, started to turn to fade only to turn into a frown. There was something on his lower right arm. Some kind of implant inserted into his flesh. It looked nothing like any Lifenet technology he had seen. It looked far too advanced to be a simple tracking device. Whoever put it there had not gone to the trouble of trying to hide it under the skin.
Subdane felt the earth quaking as one of the animals ventured close. It looked like a triceratops. Not wanting to test the temper of the large animal, he started putting some distance between himself and the animal.
His surroundings looked like something from a travel magazine. A lost paradise. Crystal blue ocean on one side and a lush and green forest on the other, and right in the middle, him walking naked in the sand. Peaceful.
Smiling from ear to ear. He suddenly stopped and turned facing the ocean. In that moment, Subdane remembered for the first time in a long time the feeling of joy and happiness. Like a child, Subdane suddenly took off. Sprinting towards the water as fast as he could.
His running feet hit the shallow water, causing white crowns of glistening water to explode up around his feet with every stride.
As the water rose higher and higher up around him, he felt lighter. The feeling caused not only because the water held him up.
He jumped up and forwards, hitting the surface of the water and diving under. He actually laughed, despite being under water. Such joy.
The current was strong, but so was he and he fought against it. He t
horoughly enjoyed the feeling of using his muscles again, draining his stamina, holding his breath and gasping for air as he reached the surface. The sensation of being alive. Something he never thought he should relish again.
During one of these deep dives, challenging his air capacity and life itself. He saw a shadow deep down in the water. Terrified he instantly started swimming up towards the surface. There was a shark in the water and it was huge.

(( ditto what Joe said...   except for Shark thing...

I would rather die peacefully in my sleep, like Grandad, than screaming, like his passengers

((Some of my favorite stories written here have been crossovers into other games. It requires a brilliant imagination to tie them together and always results in something unique. Nicely written.))

((What's the crossover? Obviously something I am unfamiliar with lol but I'm curious.

((Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. It has indeed been ages since I've written anything. I would like to pick that up again. My characters and thoughts to what is happening to them, still fills my mind.

It's from a game called 'Ark survival evolved' I made two attempts of roleplaying there. Both failed. Ferp really is the best!

((Played Ark myself, i got ambushed by a Trex in one of my initial spawns. Eventually i just stopped leaving the beach.

I can scavenge trash... but this? This is rubbish! - Post Fall scavenger problems.

((I've clocked more hours in Ark than Fallen Earth. And that's a lot. I definitely had some fun there, sadly just not with rp.
